Descriptive text

Descriptive text is a kind of text which explain how something is look like. descriantptive text is usually used to describe a special place and explain why it is special and describe the most important person in your life.

Descriptive text is a style of writing which can be usefull for variety of purposes such as To describe a particular person, place and thing clearly and to engage a reader’s attention and to create attention and to set a mood.

It has a generic structure like another paragraph text, the generic structure is identification ( introduction, general  explanation about the topic it selves), Description ( specific characteristics). and the language features are Using linking verbs ( look, see, smell, taste) and Using Multiple tenses  based on the time (present, past,  future).

Descriptive text usually known as a text that used to describe something particularry like something important in life such as describe a thing, people animal and etc.

Narrative Text

Narrative text is a kind of text which retell  a past time story and focuses on place, noun , animal, etc, such as ; Fables and Legend. It has a Generic  Structure, it is consist of 1.Orientation ( Introducing Participants, time, place), 2. Complication ( The rising crises or problem), 3. Resolution  ( Showing the way to solve the problem it selves).

When we want to make a narrative text, we should know the language features of narrative text, and the language features is Using processes verbs  (tell, say,etc), Using temporal conjunction ( chronological order; then, next) andUsing Simple past tense ( V²; went, ate, did).

Narrative text is also has it’s purpose, the purpose of narrative text is to entertain the reader or listener  how  the story happened in the past time. however, narrative can also be written to teach or inform, to change attitude/ social opinions.

Narrative text is almost have similarity with recount text, in recount text the story set up one or maybe no ere problem to resolve but if in narrative text, there are a crises and problem that should find a way to be resolves.

In common, the narrative text can be known as a legend story like Malin Kundang from West Sumatra, The Legend of Penyusuk Beach then a Fairy tale like Cinderrella it can be short story like self experiences.
